Our adventure to the caves.
We didn't go to carls bad but we did go to the caverns of Sonora in west Texas. The caves were great and it took about 2 hours to walk through them. I will add pictures in a bit, they are pats phone. :)
We left Friday morning and headed to kerrville, it was a bit cold when we aerated out but it felt great. We chose to go the back roads route, most all of the county roads are great but cr 315 is not, itturns into dirt and gravel about 6 miles in. We made it through ok but definetly need different kinds of bikes for that.
We stayed at la Quinta in kerrville , it was nice and I enjoyed the stayed.
The roads were great and we put in over 500 miles on the bikes, I have over 4000 on mine now pat has 6000 because he rides to work. Great time!

Frederickburg
Well we made it home safely. That was about a 240 mile round trip. It was a beautiful ride. We left Jarrell and took the back rode to Florence, then took another back rode to Bertram and yet another back road to Marble falls. We then had to take the main rode 281 to 290 to get to Fredericksburg. We got to the hotel around 2 pm and I had to cool off, the humidity was terrible. we then headed over to the Pacific war museum and spent a couple of hours looking at all the cool stuff but they kicked us out at 5 and told us we could come back tomorrow so we went back to the hotel and walked over to K-bobs steak house. They had a great salad and shrimp. It was raining when we got done but luckily it was right across from the hotel. I was not too impressed with the hotel though. I mean it was clean but very dated. The staff was very nice though. I guess I am just used to staying at a bed and breakfast when we go to Fredrickburg. Sunday we ate breakfast at the hotel then headed to the museum and finished up our tour and headed home. The ride home was good but the wind was very strong. I am one tired chick. We had a great time and can't wait for our next adventure.

Fredericksburg
Well we made it with no rain. The ride was fabulous. 115 miles with just one stop in marble falls. We rode with the guy from Johnson city to Fredericksburg that was from Pennsylvania . He is doing a long ride all the way to South America . Didn't get his name but I wish him safe travels . We are now at Andy's and the food is great! Just need to check in then to the fair.

This is what got me started
Even though I grew up riding motorbikes, I never really was a big adventurer. Pat and I are more of home bodies, but after watching a documentary called Long way around and Long way down with @charleyboorman and Ewan McGregor I realized that there was so much to see in my own backyard. You can watch these shows off of netflix or youtube.
Pat and I are planning several short trips to explore central Texas. This weekend we are heading to Fredericksburg for the Renewable energy round up. This will be the longest ride for me driving my own bike. We are also training for a long ride to Carlsbad Caverns in November for our anniversary. This is about a 500 mile trip. This really scares me but after watching those shows, I realize I must over come my fear and be an adventurer. I know this sounds silly, but I feel that life is passing by and I am just sitting at home watching it. You can always join us in our adventures. :)

Our adventure took us to Marble falls for lunch @rivercitygrill, We took most all back roads to get there and they were curvy and hilly , just the way I like them. The weather was great this morning. I can tell that fall is in the air.
We are currently building up endurance for a large ride this November if the weather permits to Carls bad caverns in New Mexico. That is a 450 to 500 mile trip. I am only used to doing maybe 100 miles in a day, so I need to get to training. We are heading to Fredericksburg next weekend for the renewable energy Round up. Weather permitting , we will be riding there Saturday morning and spending the night.Thats 110 miles there. We will see how I do. Pat seems to much better than I am at sitting long on the bike. I think I need a better seat. :)
